IX2’s multiple, HVAC Liebert units are tied into the building’s fully redundant central plant system. The building’s system is equipped with three (3) 1000 ton and two (2) 500 ton centrifugal chillers with four (4) 1500 ton cooling tower cells. Only one of the building’s 1,000 ton chillers are required to cool the entire building. The building’s pumps and chiller controls are tied into the emergency generator and UPS system, which allows for cooling to automatically continue in the event of a power outage.
